The Last Supper

Another Painting by Leonardo Da Vinci is the last supper. which was made in 1498 the Painting consists of Jesus eating his last meal before his capture and death. This was the most reproduced art piece.

Leonardo was a well known artist of the 1500's. He has produced the well known painting "Mona Lisa", which is the most famous Painting in the world. It is famous because of the mysterious smile made from the shadowing techniques used by Leonardo.

Art of the 1500's

The 1500's were during the renaissance. One of the well known artist of the 1500's was Michelangelo, a sculptor. Michelangelo arrived in rome when he was 21 in the year of 1496. In 1499 he sculpted his most one of his most famous art pieces the "Pieta" which was a sculpture of jesus' body after the crucifixion on his mother, Mary's lap.

Michelangelo returned to Florence, The Republic was changing after the fall of the anti-renaissance. 1504 he has made another art piece, "The Statue of David" which resembles Florentine freedom. This project was started 40 years before, Michelangelo was asked to finish it.
